Part of the automotive program at SIU also involves an in- house parts program. Sponsored by Robert Bosch Corp., the auto parts center is integral to the program's success. Bosch actively recruits SIU automotive graduates for automotive product and program management, as do other automotive manufacturers. This is a virtual-reality simulation class for students. They are wearing helmets that give them the augmented reality of being inside the engine during various phases of its operation providing a real-world feel not available by any other means.
